Jessica Cole Photo Blog bio picture

Welcome to the blog! (Jessica B Photography is STILL Jessica Cole Photography for 2011)

I am a mom. A daughter. A friend. I am an outgoing, energetic, people-person. I love fashion. Shoes especially. It's an addiction, really. I collect Starbuck's mugs. I don't have a favorite color. Or movie. I love them all. Well, not horror. I don't love horror movies.

I love newborn babies.  There is nothing else in this world that is so pure and perfect than the innocence and peace of a baby. Well, maybe babies aren't always so full of 'peace'. But I still love 'em.

Welcome to my favorite part of my website...the place where I can show off sneak peek's from my latest sessions, write about my babies and my gorgeous clients, their families and newborn babies.

For more information about me, please visit my main website and feel free to join the Facebook page.

End of 2011…wrap up, announcements and more!

I think I may have earned a big fat “F” on blogging this year. BUT, I earned an A+ on turning off the computer at night and plugging back in with my own kids and family. Someday I can do it all, right? ;)

So for those who aren’t aware or might not follow…I got married on September 24. Here is one of our sneak peek images from Stacey Pentland Photography, my dear friend and AMAZING wedding photographer.

Things are going great work-wise…keeping VERY busy. Editing away and shooting all the time from Williams to Sac, San Francisco to Graegle…this year has been an ADVENTURE for my work!

One thing to note before we get to all the cuteness: All 2010 session cd’s are on SALE now til Dec 31. I need to clear off a lot of these old sessions and make room for more. Please email if you wish you had your cd from your 2010 JCP/JBP session.

Now, here is a sampling of some recent work, since I am trying to do some blogging extra credit! Haha!

Girls, girls, girls…

My cousin just had her 2nd baby girl…and her brother and his wife (also my cousins, if you are keeping count) are also expecting a girl. And that cousin’s BFF is expecting a girl ON THE EXACT SAME DATE! Girl overload! My grandma will have 5 great-granddaughters in September when baby Alyssa arrives…my two, my cousin’s two and then the new baby Alyssa.

Matty with her new baby sister, Stevey. So sweet! (I should note: this is a candid shot…It was so funny that I had to blog it…Matty, in true 2 year old style is happy to hold sister and totally oblivious to what Stevey is doing…and clearly, Stevey is a little skeptical of what’s going on. LOL!)

Here is my sweet cousin, Robyn and her BFF…due both with girls on the same exact day!

Blogging make-over…and some birthday’s!

If I could just blog as easily as it is to put a sneak peek onto Facebook, then I would be a bad-mamma-jamma at blogging. My New Year’s resolution to blog more? Yea, its long gone. How about an August resolution? Let’s hope.

Today is my grandma’s birthday. And my friend Julie’s birthday. And Julie’s son’s birthday…wow! I need cake. Stat.

My nanny and I have always been very close. In prepping for the wedding, I have been collecting photos for a slideshow and ran into this one- one of my favorites of me and my nanny. Its scanned, obviously. There was no digital in 1983-84ish…I have to say, as a kid I always wondered why she looked so tired in this photo…as a mom looking at it now, I get it. And I apologize, publicly, to all of my family members for being a chatterbox and busy little stubborn girl. I have two just like me.

And here we are again, many years later. This was the beginning of the end for me in my pregnancy…and so began the “swelling” as I call it. ;)

And since its Julie and Jackson’s birthday, I have to send out a little tribute photo for them as well…Happy 1st birthday Jackson!!! And happy “21st”, Julie! ;) Love you guys!!!

JIm - I like your blog. It is hard to stay up on it. Cool post about your nanny!

Sacramento Photographer | I have been a bad blogger…

…but if you follow my Facebook you know how busy I’ve been….so I get a hall pass on blogging, right?

Here is a little peek of something new I am offering…just because.

Sacramento Newborn Photographer, Roseville Newborn Photographer | Chase, 5 days new

This little guy was SO sleepy and so cute for his newborn session…not so sure about me disturbing his sleep at first, he finally gave in and let me have my baby-fun with him.

And we couldn’t forget his “big brother”…LOVE this!

Roseville Newborn Photographer, Rocklin Newborn Photographer | The Cruise Quadruplets

When my client told me that her sister in law was expecting quadruplets I got really excited…and scared. And nervous. I know how hard carrying twins was and the risks with carrying multiples. There is a wide array of emotions with that experience and I could not even IMAGINE what this NICU nurse was going through because she also knew ALL the risks and information.

She was a total ROCKSTAR through her pregnancy and we kept in contact …she made it to 32 weeks (I believe, correct me if I am wrong, Trish) and all babies weighed in around 4lbs each. When it came time for newborn photos, I knew from my triplet experiences that it would need to be a 2 day process…one day for individual shots and one day for big group shots.

Day 1 was a BREEZE and all babies slept so wonderfully!

Day 2, at 6 weeks old (keep in mind, they were preemies at 8+ weeks early) was a little time consuming…but not nearly as tricky as I had worried about. These babies must have known how important their photo debut was for mommy & daddy!

I need to let other photographers know NOT to attempt this without several hands, lots of safety measures and some good photoshop skills. Baby safety ALWAYS comes first.

The babies have a darling big sister too and she was SO good while we did photos of her baby brothers and sisters…she definitely needed some time in the spotlight.

Mama has about 8 hands full…

jen patty - Fantastic work jess. I love the blog too. Very cute and absolutely love the theme and colors. Grat job as always. Ur friend jen

Rebecca Cook - Blog looks great girl, love your watermark!!

Jessica Cole Photography is transitioning…

As many of my Facebook friends and clients know, I am getting married in September and part of this huge transition is transitioning my business…Jessica Cole Photography will become Jessica B Photography in 2011. I have been working with On The Spot Studio to create a custom logo and brand that represents me and my style of work. I just adore this girl and she worked her tail off to draw all my hand drawn pieces.

My new last name will be Barrie and so I decided a cute brand would be to play on that with design/logo.

I hope everyone loves it as much as I do and I really appreciate everyone’s patience as JCP transitions to JBP over this year! I am excited for a LOT more changes as well to JBP! :)

Jessica - Thanks Sam!

sam - WOW!!!!!!!!! LOVE IT!!!!

BLOG UNDER CONSTRUCTION

I am currently working on updating my website and blog…please bear with me as changes take place. In the meantime, I am posting sneak peeks and keeping updated on my Facebook page. Come on over, “like” me and stay in touch!!!

Sacramento Children’s Photographer { Wyatt turns 1 }

Just look at his eyes! Seriously!!! Enough said.

(Note: location is my private location in the Yuba County area…if you are interested in a location like this, ask at your pre-session consultation).

Now, I am off to my local “coffee shop with the green logo” to get today’s sample beverage. And, on a related note, JCP is now accepting coffee gift card donations. LOL!

Sacramento Children’s Photographer, Eldorado Hills Photographer | { Eden, 6 months old }

Sweet little Eden turned 6 months old and I had the absolute joy of photographing this beauty…she is SO easy to photograph and such a happy girl. She literally fell asleep mid-shot at the end of our time and we decided to give her (and me) a coffee break.

This was her at her newborn shoot…so sweet and tiny!

And at her 6 month session….so sweet and smiley! A small aside: I bought TWO of these pink hats for my girls, 3+ years ago and it never fit their big heads…I have packed it around for 3 years waiting for the right baby to wear it. LOVE it on Eden and glad we got to cut the tags off of it finally!

Also, coffee test report, day 2:
Drink order: tall mocha w/ 1.5 pumps of vanilla and a sprinkle of cinnamon powder
Review: Tasty beverage but I couldn’t tell a difference with the vanilla/cinnamon added. So far, its good but drink #1 is in the lead.

Jamie Johnson - She's GORGEOUS!
